A PENSIONER has been ordered to pay more than £20,000 after failing to remove a mobile home in Chaddesley Corbett.

Richard Yardley, of Cakebole Lane, was found to have breached an enforcement notice issued by Wyre Forest District Council in 2020.

The 75-year-old failed to cease using land he owns at Grove Bungalows for residential purposes and permanently remove a mobile home.

The breach included failing to disconnect electrical and water connections, removing a storage container from the land, removing the concrete pad and septic tank from the land and reinstating the land as grass.

The pensioner had pleaded not guilty to the breach, but following a summary trial, he was convicted of the breach at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court.

On July 5, Yardley was fined £18,000 for the breach, and ordered to pay £2696.30 in costs and a £181 surcharge to fund victim services.
